Lightroom Classic: Adjustment control for Auto

Add the ability to “turn down” the adjustments made by Auto. For family snapshots, I often resort to the Auto button for processing Raw files. While Auto has gotten pretty good, it goes “too far” for my taste (example: too much HDR-look, too much Saturation). Could we have the ability to “turn down” what Auto has done just like we have for some Profiles??

Sure. After you hit the Auto button adjust the sliders to your liking. Every images is different. Adobe tries to evaluate each image and apply what it thinks are the best settings for that particular image. The settings used are not set in stone. LR is actually using a form of AI to evaluate and set the adjustments.

If you don't like what the Adobe evaluation has determined as the best setting you can either readjust or cancel the Auto applied setting and make your own.

The easiest way to do this is to apply Auto Tone with 'Adobe Color' profile and then select 'Adobe Standard' or 'Adobe Neutral' profile and sync just Treatment & Profile across all images just edited. If you select the lower contrast and color saturation profile first Auto Tone will apply higher Contrast, Vibrance, and Saturation settings, which is not what you want. Give it a try!

Instead of going for auto, hold down on the shift key, then double click next to the exposure slider in the words "Exposure" , repeat for Whites, repeat for Blacks (or as you see fit) this avoids Contrast, Saturation, etc. Adjsuts brightnes, white point, black point.

OK, just downloaded the bag of goodies. This on MAC & LR 8.4. It works. for the Persnalized Auto Tone, at the start two steps are required. In File, Plugin Extras, select Configure first, remeber to save it, then you can go for the plugin autotone (in files Plugin extras)
