Photoshop Elements: How do I set a date for a decade, rather than a specific year?

I have adjusted the date/time on my photos to reflect the year the photo was taken. I have a large number of family photos that were labeled by decade rather than year. I tried to add an "s" at the end of a year date in order to create a decades place holding, as in 1920s. The software would not accept a alphabetical character.

I would appreciate any help with this organizational problem. I am expecting multiple shipments of photo from my mother covering an 80+ year period. The majority of these photos will be undated or dated by the decade.

Thank you

You can use'Album Groups' and 'Albums' to put your all photos of a decade in one album or in multiple albums.
For example,

you can create an album group = '1920s' and below that you can create multiple albums for every year.

...and so on.
