ELEMENTS 13: adding text to photo

In Photoshop Elements 13, does the added text become part of the picture that will be printed with the picture--not like "captioning" in some software that is seen on the computer screen but is not actually part of a printed picture?
An Elements "Features" description is "Add text that flows and curves in any direction." Do I assume correctly that I can add a horizontal line of text that does not "flow" or "curve"? Thank you.

Any text you add with the text tool is part of the image that will be printed.

The only way to add metadata that will not be printed is via the File Info dialog.

Hiya Bright Eyes,

What Chris said is totally correct.  In addition, yes, you can add text that's vertical or horizontal as well as text that curves, flows, or follows a specific path.

Hope that helps,

I don't think PS Express has a text tool. Express is not the same thing as Elements.
