It would be a wonderful addition to Lightroom. Can you add Smart Objects to a future release of Lightroom, even Lightroom 4? Thanks for considering this feature. Love your software. Jan

Not sure I understand this request. You can right-click and open a file in Photoshop as a Smart Object.

Hi Jeffrey,
Unfortunately, I only have Photoshop 6 and it doesn't have the Smart Object feature. I have Lightroom3 and so I wondered if Lightroom could have a mechanism to somehow make a raw or jpeg photo into a Smart Object inside Lightroom... I am really new to this and not able to upgrade Photoshop to CS5 onward or backwards to other versions. I put my investment into the Lightroom and love it. Thanks again. Maybe what I asked is not a possibility at all.
Have a great day,
Jan.

Yeah, I'm not sure what good a Smart Object would be in Lightroom. It's already doing all its edits non-destructively. Smart Objects are only useful in an application like Photoshop that needs a container for non-destructive edits/instructions.
