Just add the option to have a circular graduated filter.

Would love to see a opposing or inverse grad filter. This would solve the issue when you are trying to add a darkening or lightening effect to two separate parts of a photo and the two filters overlap each other thereby doubling the effect. This is not an issue if you were intending to do this but if you weren't then the problem make the tool unusable.
I would like to see an option to have the effect only apple once.
If this is too complicated then an elliptical grad filter should fit the bill.

I suppose this has been added in LR 5 in the shape of the Radial Filter, so it could be marked here as Completed.

Thanks for the update Rob, I'm still using CS6 and occasionally LR 4. Generally LR is too slow for my workflow and the crop tool is a real pain but then hey maybe its fixed in LR5. I'm not a fan of subscription but I will have to switch when my new camera arrives in a few weeks.

sharpening, white balance...
plus you can set any center point, and have more than one...
You can get close by using a big brush.
