Lightroom: Add a "Collections" module

My idea (not very original) is to add a "Collections" module to Lightroom that allows for easier navigation of collections. Something similar to iPhoto's "events" view, with collections appearing as stacks, would be helpful for me. These stacks (each representing a collection) could then be sorted, edited and published in various ways from within the collections module. I'd also like the option to see a stack called "Not in a collection" (maybe there's already a way to accomplish this through Smart Collections).

I realize that my use of the term "stacks" is different from the way stacks are currently intended to be used in Lightroom, but anyone who's seen iPhoto's "events" view will know what I mean.

Engaging loupe view within the collections module would give information (in the panels) about the photo and what collections it's in, allowing quick changes if desired.

All my pictures are in collections, which I've named in the "YYYY/MM/DD - Event Name" format. The underlying folder structure is simply folders by date. Many of my collections pull from more than one folder. Having a Collections module would allow me to do away with the cumbersome naming scheme.

Another benefit, IMO: Lightroom is excellent at FINDING photos, but I don't like it very much for BROWSING photos, as in "hey, let me take a trip down memory lane." A Collections module could help address this, while (I believe) also remaining useful to power users.
