Add up & down buttons to adjust type and leading

Please consider adding up and down buttons next to Font Sizes, Leading, Vertical scale, etc. in the Panels to increase and decrease measurements, as it is in the Character properties in Illustrator. It is easier to visually see and control what you're setting. So much time is wasted clicking on an item to customise it and then having to double-click and re-assign a size each time you want to adjust the settings. Using the left/right arrows assigned to the mouse does not allow you to control the sizing in the way arrows would.

Additionally, why do I have to set up yet another account in order to submit feedback and requests for Adobe?

I like this idea!~
it would be great to have UP & Down buttons on Brush Size as well.
Preferably  with additional UP & Down buttons with with 2 ~ 5 per  Increment per Click.

Howdy Eddie,

Have you tried using the Arrow keys to adjust Font Size, Leading, Scale, etc?  They work like buttons but save valuable visual real estate.

To submit suggestions, you can always post here.  A number of employees regularly look over this site.

Thanks,
David

Hi David.

Yes, but it's still adds unnecessarily long motions and gestures into the proceedings that break up my workflow. There should be (even) more UI harmony between CC apps. Hopefully some of the team will see this and respond?

All the best

Howdy Eddie,

Honestly, you're talking to him, at least for all things typographic.  And I'm not trying to be difficult.  But I know how much of a hard-sell this would be, particularly since we have so many other ways to manipulate these values.  Now if you could share your stories and workflow, why this inclusion is important and how it can help other people, I can also try to work that into the feature request.  But to be completely honest, right now, I can think of many, many features more deserving of development effort.

Thanks,
David

Hi David

My own requirements aside, I think simply for consistency across the UI that this should be integrated or adopted. So much effort was made on the 2019 update to incorporate the Properties panel into the PS workflow and the various cloud-based integration that I'm surprised the very basic functionality wasn't considered or included at the same time. I know you're probably aware of the differences but see screen grab attached comparing the discrepancies between the PS and AI/ID panels.

My design time is spread equally across PS, AI & ID for up to 6-8 hours a day and having up/down arrows directly next to a selected field, as per AI and ID, is a far more practical solution than double-clicking and either using the track pad on the mouse or the up/down arrows on the keyboard. Plus, if 2/3rds of my CC workflow uses these buttons, surely the other 1/3rd should align itself to the majority if it's part of a suite?

If all three were designed concurrently today as a new product release, you'd assume this would be one of the key UI elements that would be consistent across the products at the very start of the build.

But hey, what do I know? I've only been using the products for 28 years... :)

All the best
