The springloaded tools feature really messes with my workflow when painting digitally, as I switch between brushes and erasors very often as I paint. This leads to a lot of accidental switches back to my previous tool without wanting to.

Haven't found anything yet, been trying my best to retrain myself to let go the button before continuing to paint or erase, still frustrating to say the least. Might just revert to an older PS version, as sad as that is

Agreed, there still is no option to disable it.  I am also a digital painter and asking older artists to adopt a new setting by default is terrible.  Make it an option!

I had to walk away from my work today as this springloaded hotkey garbage IS STILL A THING and it is starting to win the fight. if there were another tool to pick beside photoshop i would. the frustration is very very deep.
