I really like the old-school zoom marquee in Photoshop since I feel that it is faster and more accurate in achieving what I want. As far as I can tell there is no option to enable it in Adobe Camera Raw, instead we get this weird drag and zoom when we use the cmd+space keyboard shortcut.

Please bring the old-school zoom marquee back as an option. Thank you!

HI Bernd,

The old-school zoom marquee is still available in Camera Raw, if you prefer it.  With the zoom tool selected, control-click (or right-click) on the image to bring up a context menu.  At the bottom of that context menu, there is a checkbox item named "Scrubby Zoom".  This is checked by default.  By unchecking it, you will cause the Zoom tool to function using the zoom marquee that you described.

Thank you! I did not know that.

Unfortunately this only seems to work when the zoom tool is selected, not when using the cmd+space keyboard shortcut (which I usually use). But I guess this is more of an annoyance than a problem.
