That's it! There's a shortcut that gets you to the keywords box; a shortcut to quickly get at the caption field would be very useful.

I agree with you! It would be great to see captioning & keywording given a lot more attention. At this point (largely editorial photographer here) captioning and keywording takes the same amount of time or more as developing.

A couple of partial workarounds that may or may not help:

- Once you've selected the Caption field with the current photo, Cmd/Ctrl + Right Arrow moves to the next photo, leaving the keyboard focus in the Caption field. This lets you enter the captions for a batch of photos without having to re-click in the Caption field for each.

- You could use the popular, free Autohotkey (Windows) or an equivalent on Mac to do Cmd/Ctrl + K followed by 18 tabs, which will move the focus to the Caption field.

I think at this point its very unlikely Adobe will add a keyboard shortcut for Caption.  Only a few people have asked on the forums for it over the years, and with LR Classic, Adobe publicly indicated they are focusing their efforts on Develop tools and performance -- so whatever focus they previously had on Library is now significantly reduced.

Hi there - these are useful, cheers. I found CMD+right while searching for this, it's really useful. Shortcut applications seem like quite a complicated solution.

If you're right that Adobe is focussing on Develop and performance to the exclusion of Library I think that's a shame. I do a lot of editorial photography where the emphasis is on getting images in and out of Lightroom fast, i.e. hit everything with the same preset, keyword, caption and export, so the easier Library is to use the better.

Cheers for your reply!
