I got my Windows 7 64bit to download Photoshiop CS3 program. I can find the folder but don't seem to have a way to get the it started. I have the serial numbers but nothing asked for them or anything else after it downloaded so I can't get the program to start. Do I need to do something called activating it? How do I do that?

When you install the application, or the first time it runs, you will be asked for your serial number.

If your system has had that version installed previously, and you did not deactivate it, then the activation may still be active and not need you to re-enter the serial number.

That is my problem I can't seem to get it to run. When I double click on the CS3 folder it just opens up into other folders and will not start as I expected it to. I presume that it is already installed since the folder is in place.

What do you mean "opens up into other folders"?
It sounds like you downloaded the installer, but did not actually install the application.

On my desktop is a folder named Adobe CS3. If I double click on it it shows a folder named Photoshop. Inside is a folder named Adobe CS3.
When I double click on that Adobe CS3 folder I see 8 items among them
1. Setup (its type is listed as application
2. Versioninfo (XML document
3. WinBootstrapper (type Windows Installer package

I double clicked on WinBootstrapper -installer.
A message came up to use setup. After agreeing it appears to be installed.
I got the serial numbers put in. It said it was a license for an upgrade and had to put in license numbers for CS. It started to run but I can't get the registration to submit online. Should I mark the choice register later?

Is the Adobe CS3 folder on my desktop still needed? Or was it just for installing? I did figure out how to put a shortcut on my desktop to open PS.

Lastly, I hope to download and install InDesign CS3 using its serial numbers. Will the procedure be the same. Also I have a CD back up of Lightroom 2 I hope to install and have its serial numbers. Will that CD install the program?

I greatly appreciate your assistance. Sorry for being so uninformed. My husband was my computer whiz and can no longer help due to illness.

The folder you downloaded was just for installation, and can be deleted..

I checked Register later and PS appears to be running. Just wondering about the registration. Will it ask for registration again. Why registration needed?
