Stand-alone versions do not require activation. They require a serial number.

Determine which version of Lightroom for which you are licensed. (Perpetual or Creative Cloud)
Uninstall any wrong versions.
Install the correct version.
Enter your serial number (perpetual) Use your Adobe ID (Creative Cloud)

To expand on what Rikk explained, if you want to activate your Lightroom with a serial #, you need to use the perpetual installers from here:

Serial #'s don't work when installing Lightroom from Creative Cloud. Only Sign-in works when installed from Creative Cloud.

Thanks Rikk
Thanks Jeffrey,

The issue that i want to keep an install-able copy on my PC so i don't have to re-download when needed (950 Mb is time consuming specially with my poor connection)
I've downloaded an *.exe copy of Photoshop, recognized by the CC App manager and works well.

Finally called the support and they told me exactly like you said guys, I've to re-download Lr through the App manager itself, Copies with serial won't be activated through CC accounts...Unfortunately have to re-install.

Thanks again guys
