Camera Raw: more Save Image options

I'd really like it if the Save Image dialog offered some options I currently use Dr Brown's 1-2-3 for.

For instance:

Convert to CMYK.
resize by percentage.
Choice of resizing algorithm.
Ability to run a PS action upon saving, including the choice running it before or after resizing.
Add copyright.

Including these valuable options directly in the Save Image dialog would save me steps and be a big productivity enhancer for me.

Not that I'm confident this will ever come to pass. Russell Brown is an Adobe employee and his been providing this wonderful script freely for many years. Why has PS/Bridge always instead provided its inferior sibling: Image Processor? I'm sincerely curious why terms have never been come to. What's the scoop?

Hi Scott, so is the request to have Dr. Brown's 1-2-3 included with Photoshop? If so, I think it's a great idea.

Hi Jeffrey. I'm thrilled you're interested in this.

Yes, I think it should replace Image Processor in PS and Bridge because it's similar but better. Personally though, I already have that functionality there via Dr Brown's script. However, where it's also needed, and I don't know how to achieve it, is in Camera Raw (presumably via the Save Image dialog.)

As such I would be able to select, say, 20 images in Bridge, batch process them in ACR, and then straight from ACR save one set as downsized JPEGS, another set as RGB PSDs with a PS action included, and yet another as uprezed (by percentage) CMYK TIFFS, all straight from ACR.

So the short answer is, I'd like Dr Brown's 1-2-3 functionality built into Camera Raw's Save Image dialog because it's current option set it too limited.

Jeffrey,

I still want this in ACR, but if I may be so greedy, I had another thought regarding PS implementation: it would be cool if we got the DrB 1-2-3 options via "Save As".

Frequent scenario is, I work a layered PSD in RGB. When complete that gets saved as my master file, but the client will require a reduced size jpeg and perhaps a flattened CMYK for press. T'would be great if while the file is still open I could do a Save As and get the Dr Brown 1-2-3 options wherein I can make a reduced size sRGB jpeg and a flattened uprezed CMYK Tiff, etc, perhaps with different sharpening actions run on each of them, and sent directly to their own folders.

Could be a real time saver.

Thanks Jeffrey, I'll definitely try that out. Looks terrific.

Any thoughts on the feasibility of including it directly in ACR and/or PS's Save As dialog? I'm not asking for a prediction, but is there anything technically prohibitive about it?
