Hi, The Canon EF 28-80mm USM f3.5-5.6 II predated the lens corrections feature was since discontinued by the manufacturer. You many be able to find a user-generated profile using the free Adobe Lens Profile Downloader (link below).

https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/digital-negative.html

As for removing Lateral Chromatic Aberration (LCA), current versions of Camera Raw and Lightroom no longer use LCA correction data from lens profiles. Instead, LCA corrections are computed from image data when checking Remove Chromatic Aberration on the Lens Corrections panel. Lens profiles are used to correct distortion and vignetting.

- Chris

Hi,

If you are referring to the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 28-300mm f3.5-5.6 ED VR, this lens has been supported since Camera Raw 6.3/Lightroom 3.3. The profile is designed to work with raw files only, so please confirm you are using it for NEF and not JPEG files.

Regards,

- Chris

Please rename Zeiss Batis 1.8/85 lens from "E 85mm F1.8" to correct name, like other Batis lenses "ZEISS Batis 1.8/85". It looks like a Sony lens for APSC sensor, or new Sony 85/1.8 lens.

Hi,

ACR and Lightroom do not override EXIF lens names on the Sony E mount platform. We rely on the EXIF written by the camera/lens combination.

For the Zeiss Batis 85mm, I do have an early sample file that uses the generic (and admittedly incorrect) "E 85mm F1.8" name, and a current sample from a later production run that uses the correct "ZEISS Batis 1.8/85" name. While I am not 100% sure, this discrepancy could be a issue with lens or camera firmware. In any case, the lens profile for either EXIF name will match for the Zeiss lens.

The new Sony 85mm f/1.8 uses the name "FE 85mm F1.8" so there should be no conflict between the Zeiss and Sony 85mm f/1.8 lenses.

- Chris

The manual correction of the Sony FE 24-70 F2.8 GE ist too complex. A lens profile is needed.

With your RW2 file open in my LR CC 2015.9 on Windows 7 the 'i' icon and 'Built-in Lens Profile applied' is showing (see below). It is also applying lens corrections when compared to the RawDigger export TIFF. Please reset your LR Preferences file as outlined at the below link and see if that fixes the issue:

Dear Todd, many thanks! I just reset the preferences and it works - also with DNGs.
So finally there was an answer to a problem which started 3 years ago.....

Todd & Poppy, YES! I also reset the preferences (after seeing Poppy's success) and it worked! "Built-in Lens Profile applied" is now there in there in Lens Corrections for my Canon G3X shots, just like you said Todd. Thanks again, and thanks Victoria for the instructions!

Carlos and Poppy, good to hear resetting the Preferences file fixed the issue! When you upgrade LR (i.e. LR 3>4>5>6) the old Preferences file is used to carry-over all of your LR settings and then "modified" to support new functions in the upgrade version. During this process the Preferences file can become corrupted and cause "strange behavior" such as what you experienced. It has only happened to me once after upgrading from LR 4 to 5.

As user of the Panasonic Lumix G - Sytem camera, I would be very interested in having integrated the respective lens profiles for the panasonic lenses (esp. f2.8/12-35; f2.8/35-100; f4.0-5.6/100-300; f1.7/20).

Lens corrections are integrated in the Micro-ForThird system and " automatically" applied in LR and ACR. At the bottom of the Lens Correction panel > Profile with 'Enable Profile Correction'  unchecked an 'i' icon with the words 'Built-In Lens Profile' should appear.

Whilst RAW images from these camera is supported within Lightoom - why can't jpeg's be handled in a similar manner?  As jpeg images contain exif information and are essentially very compressed versions of RAW images surely the same lense corrections can be applied?  Camera RAW from version 7.1 has supported my Samsung NX cameras and various lenses within Lightroom 5.6 onwards - but there is no way of applying it to jpegs.  Whilst Apple, Canon, Nikon etc appear to be able to apply corrections to their jpegs - why can't Samsung and a multitude of other manufactures not?

We generally only build profiles for raw files for the reasons you point out (i.e. most cameras allow in-camera corrections to JPEGs). For the Samsungs, you have the option of copying the existing lens profile (.LCP file) to the user profile folder and changing the following property from True to False.

stCamera:CameraRawProfile="True"

That will enable it for JPEGs. Keep in mind that the correction may not be 100% correct since it was generated from a scene-referred raw file and not an output-referred JPEG.

There is no lens profiles for a Samyang 85mm F1.8 lens, only F1.4. It's not likely Adobe will produce a lens profile for this older manual focus lens.

You can create a lens profile using the Adobe Lens Profile Creator: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/lens-profile-support.html#Create_your_own_lens_profiles

You can also simply try one of the available Canon or Nikon 85mm F1.8 lens profiles, which may be similar to the Opteka 85mm F1.8 lens performance.

Where can I find a Lightroom Lens Profile for Tamronv14-150mm F/3.5-5.8 Di III. It seems like Adobe has a lot of Tamron lens profiles for the full frame and crop frame lens but nothing for the Micro fourth thirds lenses.

As far as I know, the Tamron 14-150mm F/3.5-5.8 Di III is compatible with the micro four thirds standard which means the lens corrections should be written into raw files.

In Camera Raw and Lightroom you can confirm this by looking for an info icon on the lower portion of the Lens Corrections panel that informs you that there is already a lens correction applied. If you have the latest 9.12/6.12 versions of the products, the profile popups should show "Built-in" if the corrections are present. In other words, you should not need an external lens profile for this or most lenses for this camera platform.
