Lens profile request for Canon EF 70-200MM F/4L IS II USM

With the recent release of Canon EF 70-200MM F/4L IS II USM , may I know whether lens profile support for Canon EF 70-200MM F/4L IS II USM  is in the roadmap?

Thanks.

Lightroom works pretty well on the Huawei Mate 10 pro with DNG support unfortunately the f1.6 comes with a pretty heavy vignetting which is corrected by Huawei's own camera app but not in Lightroom. However I prefer Lightroom as it gives more control and has better noise reduction and sharpening tools. I'd be happy to have a decent Huawei Mate 10 pro lens correction profile in LR too.

When will the Canon EF 70-200mm F4L IS II USM lens be added?

It is very inconvenient to manually process the lens value when calibrating in the lightroom. Please update soon.
I do not have a personal profile to create and use. Please do not get a silent manual answer to get your developer tools and create your own profile.

Could you please add the lens correction profile of the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 III lens to Adobe Camera Raw?

Hello,

I believe this lens is optically the same as the EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS and EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II models, but without the image stabilizer. You can set a lens profile default to apply one of those profiles automatically.

Alternatively, if you post some CR2 raw samples made with your lens that include scenes with horizontal and vertical lines as well as some images at each full aperture stop (to evaluate light falloff), we might be able to repurpose the profiles for the models above and add an official Adobe version in the future. I cannot guarantee that will work, so please set expectations accordingly.

Posting to a site like DropBox and sending me a link is fine. If you decide to do so, please send the link to ccastleb@adobe.com.

Regards,

- Chris

Could I get a lens profile for this lens?  I've approximated it by modifying the Samyang 7.5mm f3.5 lens, so I'm close.

I'm not 100% certain but it may be possible that both lenses are optically the same, or at least very similar. So, using the Samyang 7.5mm F3.5 profile could be suitable. Either way, I will add the Opteka lens to our backlog of lenses to profile. I cannot guarantee if/when we will be able to produce a profile, so please set expectations accordingly.

I am shooting with a Canon 5D MK II and an 80D.

Any chance of getting a lens profile for the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM + Canon 2.0X III extender?

Just checked my Lightroom 6 and there's one for the second version of the lens but not the first.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Requesting Lens Correction Profiles for Three Legacy Lenses.

I request that Adobe profile lens correction profiles for the following three legacy lenses (as I will explain below, it appears that two of the requested profiles are identical to existing profiles):

Minolta AF 28-70mm f/2.8 G - the lens correction profile for the Nikon AF-S Zoom NIKKOR 28-70mm f/2.8 D IF-ED appears to perfectly correct the vignetting and geometric distortion of the images from this Minolta lens. I suspect that the designs of the Minolta and Nikon are identical and if so, Adobe could provide a lens correction profile for the Minolta by copying the Nikon profile and renaming it.

Tamron 14mm f/2.8 SP AF Aspherical IF - the lens correction profile for the Nikon NIKKOR 14mm f/2.8 D ED appears to perfectly correct the vignetting and geometric distortion of the images from this Tamron lens. I suspect that the designs of the Tamron and Nikon are identical and if so, Adobe could provide a lens correction profile for the Tamron by copying the Nikon profile and renaming it. However, Adobe Photoshop does not appear to recognize this Tamron lens because selecting File > File Info... > Raw Data shows <aux:Lens>----</aux:Lens> so it may be difficult for Adobe to provide a lens correction profile automatically.

Minolta AF 17-35mm f/3.5 G - no existing Adobe lens correction profile appears to perfectly correct the vignetting and geometric distortion of the images from this Minolta lens; however, the lens correction profiles for the Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L III USM and Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L USM lenses correct to some degree (the L III USM corrects better than the L USM). It would be useful if Adobe were to create a lens correction profile for this Minolta lens.

I'm wondering if Adobe would be willing to add Rodenstock lens profiles to Camera Raw? Specifically, I'd like to see a profile for the 40 mm HR Digaron - W lens. Thanks!

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Request new lens profile.

How do you request/create a new lens profile? The only link I could find which wasn't dead lead here and the ACR lens profile creator is no-longer downloadable or supported.

The Canon EF-M 32mm/f1.4 is new, just started shipping. I'd hope to see a profile in LR/ACR for it soon so we can get better raw correction (currently using a similar profile which sort of looks about right). How long does it usually take to see profiles for fairly mainstream lenses or does someone have to request them?

I think you're looking in the wrong part of the list - its prefix is HD and it's been there for a good few years (in LR6) - I know as I've got the lens and used it's profile.

I have the DJI Mavic 2  Pro that came out in late August 2018. The camera on the drone is a Hasselblad L1D-20c.
Any suggestions to get this to work?

One thing to check is the lower portion of the Lens Corrections panel for Mavic 2 DNGs. There may be automatic lens corrections included in the file via opcodes. If so, you should see an Info icon at the bottom of the panel. Clicking it will reveal which aberrations are corrected. If you don't see this, please post a link to a sample DNG and I will download it and have a look.

- Chris

I used to shoot with Sony DSLR's (a100, a700, a850) and Minolta lenses, so I have thousands of old photos with no profiles available. Lenses include the Minolta 28-135mm f/4-4.5, Minolta 70-210mm f/4 beercan, Minolta 50mm f/1.7, and Sigma 17-35mm f/2.8-4.

My outfit was stolen several years ago and I switched to Canon, so I have no way to generate profiles for the Sony gear.

Since you no longer make the lens profile downloader available, how is someone supposed to get profiles for any of those older lenses?
