ACR freezing Photoshop

Just upgraded to Photoshop cc 19.0, plus all the other apps I use. Now when I have a RAW image in Bridge and open it in PS the ACR window opens but when I go to open the image it freezes PS. It's the same if I am in PS and go to File > Open. The only way I can shut down PS is by Task Manager in Windows 10

Great to hear, Richard.

If you wouldn't mind will you please let me know which graphics card you have on this machine?

I want to be certain whether there is/is not a pattern to the freezing behavior you and a couple of users have experienced.

Thanks!

Hi Chris,
Sure, it's an AMD Radeon HD 5570.
Just now I used the liquify filter in Photoshop and I had a warning that nothing would work and my world would probably end as I had unchecked the graphic card box. Needless to say everything worked fine.

I have considered before changing the graphic card as obviously, it's a few years old now but everything works fine and I frequently use Premiere Pro and After Effects and they are both power hungry.

Regards,
Richard
