Hi - new to this forum..  I own the Tamron 18-400 MM lens and when I go to process an image in ACR that I shot with that lens on my Canon T5i the Auto lens correction function does not find my camera or lens.  When I manually choose the hardware I cannot find the lens listed.  Yet what's odd is a friend has this same lens and I have been able to open her files and apply the correction - it sees her lens.

Where do I go to begin a fix?

Shot in RAW or jpeg? When shooting jpeg lens corrections are (mostly) already applicated in camera and hence not available in ACR.

Hi - Yes all was shot in RAW in my canon T5i with the Tamron 18-400MM lens.  I am pretty sure I have seen that specific lens listed in the past in the ACR lens list but for some reason I am not finding it listed now.  Was that lens removed in a recent update?

If your lens is this one:

Then it is supported. If your lens is different, then it is not currently on the list.
In my memory, I cannot recall a lens ever being removed.

I know I have seen it listed in the lens list in the past but when I go to open a raw file where I used that lens it is not listed.  This is my conundrum and am at a loss for where to go?  I have the newest versions of PH and Bridge and am on Win 10 Pro.

I am attaching the list of Tamron lenses that come up when I choose that option in ACR - the 18-400 is not on the list.  It keep defaulting to the 16 - 300 when I try to let it make the choice.  Ignore the blue line - I just put it there to show the end of the 18 - xxx MM lenses.

Just a question... Are you definitively sure your lens is 18-400 mm? So I presume it is for
a crop-camera? Sounds like an incredible zoom to me...

Yes - 18 - 400 MM Tamron zoom lens for crop sensor.  It came out maybe 2 years ago.

If you can post a raw image taken with this lens, I would be happy to look at it further.

Hello Rikk - the file will not upload as this board will not accept raw files nor will it accept files larger than 2 Megs.  How else can I get you a file?

It is working on my end on Camera Raw 12.2.  Can you verify your Camera Raw version number you have installed?

I am not sure where to find the raw version but my CC says it is up to date.  21.1.1 is my PS version

Did you have to tell it was a Tamron lens or did it pick that up automatically?

Not working for me here like that.  It used to but not now. And I can see I am up to date seemingly.  I forwarded screen shots for you to see.  Still befuddled.

Two suggestions:
  1. Reset Camera Raw Preferences
  2. Reinstall Photoshop and Camera Raw
I am guessing one of those will cure it for you.

How do you reset camera raw preferences? And if I uninstall Photoshop will I have to reinstall all of the plugins again? Is there anyway just to reinstall it and let it fix itself?

Here is a video showing the process: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Y7AzupMPl0

You may have to reinstall Plugins during a Photoshop reinstall - it depends on the plugin and how deep you go in your uninstall.

Thank you - I tried this but I am not getting any different results.
Any other thoughts before I uninstall and reinstall?  This is a fresh install too - on a new SSD  - in a new Win 10 OS.
Hard to think the latest version , as I have, as a fresh install does not work properly from Adobe.
