Not infrequently I accidentally hit Cmd-Q instead of Cmd-Tab (to change applications). This brings up the Backup Catalog Before Exit dialogue box and I'm then stuck quitting LR and having to restart it. Hitting Esc does not abort the exit process.

Please ask Adobe to include a Cancel option in that diagoue box so I can just return to LR without quitting.

Work-around for the mean time: modify Cmd-Q to not quit Lightroom. You can always quit using the menu.

I was afraid you might ask me that ;-}.

On Windows I use AutoHotkey. I'm not a Mac expert, but Quickeys would do it, for a price, yet I think Mac has built in support via the automator, no?

Paddy maybe? Keyboard tamer??

Also, there might be some options via TranslatedStrings.txt file in Resources/language directory in the app folder - you'd need expert guidance (not me).

I'm hoping a savvy Mac user will come along and rescue me/us now.

Go to System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard Shortcuts and set it up like this:

I changed it to Cmd Opt Q as something that you wouldn't hit by accident.

When you quit LR you're given the option to backup the catalog or to skip doing the backup. You're not, however, given the option to cancel the "quit" operation.

I've lost track of the number of times I've inadvertently hit cmd-q (quit) instead of cmd-a (select all) and was forced to quit and restart LR.

It would be nice if LR4 would provide a "Cancel" button on the "Quit" popup that prompts for backup/skip.

I may be the only person who does this, but I occasionally go to close LR, and then realize I have one more thing I want to do before shutting down. However, at the time one elects to close, the only options are "Backup" or "Skip". It would be a really nice feature to be able to cancel and return to LR without having it close and need reopening. Please consider adding this feature if it is possible.
Thank you!

WHY is adding a Cancel button to an existing dialog window such a big deal?

Yes I did the OPTION-CMD work-around.

Do it right, Adobe.

On more than one occasion I have accidentally hit "Command-Q" to close out another program only to close out Lightroom. Current the only prompt you get is "Skip this time" or "Back up". I would love to see a third choice, "Cancel" (Shutdown). Ty
