Accidental overwriting due to missing folder

Hi everybody,

I am really bothered by what I consider to be a serious lack in Photoshop, because I am sure I am not the only one.

I am retouching a big batch of files for e-commerce. When I finish editing each photo I launch an action that adds some regulations and then saves the file as psd with open levels in a folder named "POST".

It happens, my mistake, that after a while I rename that very folder from finder not thinking it's the destination folder of the action. It took me two hours to realize that after the rename Photoshop not only did not inform me that the folder is missing, but everytime the action is launched it saves that file with the name "POST.psd" and overwrites it! everytime! Without notifying the overwriting either!

I'm really confused: is it really difficult to add a notice, a popup, anything, that says "look, the folder used in this action can no longer be found, what should I do?".
I have lost hours of work due to this.
