Photoshop always tries to connect to the internet when started. I take a laptop on cruises where the satellite Internet connections are poor at best and expensive time wise. I would like to have an option to turn off the automatic connection. Thank you.

If you go to Preferences > Plug-ins, then uncheck "Allow Extensions to Connect to the Internet", it should prevent that from happening.

I'm using PSE and I went to Preferences > Plug-ins and it appears that I have no plugins so there was no "Allow Extensions to Connect to the Internet" checkbox.

Thanks for the try, I really would prefer a simple on/off button on the welcome screen

Hi James,

Can you click on your name on the app bar and sign-off?

Yes, it comes up with James and when I click on my name the black box that asks for my password appears and when entered I can sign out.

Yes it appears that it did something, when I clicked on edit there was less than a second before the edit screen appeared. Now how do I go back? You are a really great guy to spend this time. Just so you know I was an IBM SE Area software Marketing Programs Manager and at 71 I really appreciate your assistance.

You should be able to click 'Sign-In' where your name was and log-in with your Adobe ID (your email address) and password. The just log out when you go on vacation.

You re looking at 8 years of my retirement building it. I know how hard you work and Gail & I one day decided that we needed time for us and I hope that you too can find the time and hobby that will make you and the family happy.
