In Lightroom one can store dodge and burn and brush presets however in camera raw in Photoshop these are the only ones omitted as part of a preset. Adding this would greatly enhance the rapid application of Camera raw settings - otherwise Lightroom is much faster for this. But for those who don't own both its a bummer.

What are the exact settings you use to make a Dodge or Burn Preset in LR? You can't save the Brush settings themselves, but you can save a preset for the brush in Camera Raw.

It's not so terrible for people who use CR to not have Burn and Dodge tools because they've got Photoshop which has excellent tools for that—usually they're applied to individual files, but if you want to sync what you've done with a lot of files that have a composition that's identical enough, you can apply it to one file in CR and then sync your local adjustments to the rest of the images.

This isn't good enough for you?

are you saying that you're not able to Create a local brush preset in ACR?

I can't find a way to save the brush settings (size/feather/etc) themselves. You can?  Or were you not talking to me? <BG>

oh, i was asking Patrik, but i was referring to only the adj sliders, not the brush settings. Sounds like maybe he doesn't know that you can save a new preset for dodge/burn?

I thought maybe he didn't know how to save presets in CR. But I don't use LR extensively enough to know exactly what he's referring to.

This image covers all the Lightroom settings you can store in a Preset for a RAW image
you can even store local adjustments, brushes, Gradual filters, Radial filters, Crop, spot removal and more (I would like to be able to store all the same settings in Photoshop presets)

Here is the Photoshop preset preference pane which shows what is available there and you can't store local presets etc.

Hope this helps illustrate what I would like to have in Photoshop. I.e. be able to store all the same setting as in LR.

Actually, the screendump you show from Lightroom is not the new preset dialog, it's the synchronize dialog. You can't save a brush as preset in Lightroom either and it wouldn't make much sense. Your brush strokes will unlikely be the same for future images...

Just saw that you confused Sync with the Preset panel.  We've been promised there's no difference between CR and LR, but if there is, I'd vote for parity.
