Hi Software Designers of Photoshop and I am college student doing a paper for Design class on Vitruvius and the principles that he stated for architect/engineers. I was wondering how much did you all study Art and Photography and how much did you learn during the creation of the application? -- thank you Sid

That depends on the background of each developer and QE.

Some of the engineers had art, photo, or printing backgrounds before joining Adobe, and others learned on the job (a few weren't interested in photography until their first child was born :-). Frequently we'll learn more techniques and specialties as we work on various features (like comic book illustration, color correction in film, watercolor, etc.).

Many of our QE have art, design, or printing backgrounds before we hire them, but all learn more while working on the product.
