Hi! Delphine here. Happily been using Phostoshop for 22 years and counting ^^
I found a little bug. I just upgraded to the last CC version and now the "Pattern" fill layers in the Layer palette are in grey, not enabled anymore. This said in the menu "layers", new fill layer>pattern still works. I think it's just a problem with the layers window. Good luck on that!

Check the preset manager and make sure you have some patterns loaded.
Otherwise I'd have to guess that a plugin or something is interfering with the menu.

Hi Chris! I am honored you answered.

Like I said, it's working with the menu, not in the palette. I made a hot key and it works too. But it's grey in the palette.

I'm a pattern designer : I have around 300 patterns loaded.

The only plugin I have is grid grid.

OK, that is weird. I can't think of much else that would disable the menu item in normal circumstances. (the logic basically says: do I have patterns, and can I make another layer - then enable the menu item).

Of course, make sure you have all the updates installed (should be 14.1.2).

And try disabling the plugins, just in case.

Which OS version are you using?

I disabled GuideGuide (sorry not grid grid- my mistake) , restarted my computer and the pattern fill is still grey in the palette.

I have a Mac pro, early 2009, 2.93 GHz quad core, 24 GB
on OSX 10.9.1
Photoshop 14.1.2 is installed.

OK, it could be yet another menu glitch in 10.9 - but I don't have 10.9 here with me to check. And I'll take a look at the code when I get back to the office to see what else might disable it.

The sad part is, i read what you wrote and saw "guide guide" anyway. :-)
