Win 10 PSE15 Recently I've been getting a beep sound when saving a file. It wasn't there in the past. Not sure whether this is a Windows 10 thing or Elements. But it is very annoying. Any ideas please in how I can stop it apart from turning off my speakers.

Chris, There are many reasons Windows beeps. If you try to save a file with the same name, it will beep.

See the following link for information on how to turn off windows sounds: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/turn-off-windows-explorer-click-sounds-in-windows-vista/

Note that if you use a custom theme that may turn on / off sounds. If you change a theme, it may turn on sound that you thought you had turned off.

I have used PSE 15 and I don't hear sounds when I save a file except if there is a warning as above.

Thanks Steve, I've had a play and find that we're on Windows Default. I didn't know we could do this (won't tell my OH otherwise he'll be 'playing'!).

However you say "If you try to save a file with the same name, it will beep.' and that is what is happening. When I make changes to my photos I tend to save with the same name. My ability to take a level photograph is poor and I straighten them in Elements as a matter of course so I hardly ever need to keep the original as well as the corrected file. It looks like I will have to live with it and it must have been happening in the past but it is only now that it gets on my nerves.

Turn up a rock station louder and ignore it.   Works for squeaks in my car too.
