3. Click "Choose a destination" and point the downloader to a location
that can accommodate the size of the library or libraries you want to

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Poof!.

Will my revel library disappear if I don't actively transfer them to the "Creative" cloud?

Brian,

Eventually yes.
You need to download your assets before February 23 if you want to preserve them.

That's alright. My assets are all on my computer. You can keep my assets ("keep" was not my first choice of words). I am not going to participate for fear of any further getting jerked around. I am done.

Can i download my files more than once. To my iPad, to my computer, to a memory card for example. I have only less than 8 gb of photos.

With Adobe Revel images may be viewed from any computer, smart phone or tablet, but only downloaded to a computer. As long as the image is still in your account it can be downloaded.

There are instructions here for downloading to your iPad
https://www.adoberevel.com/transition...
Under the bullet item: How do I get my photos and videos from the app and/or back them up?

That explains how to save your Revel files to your iPad.
If your photos are getting uploaded to iCloud that is an iOS setting you can control in the iOS iCloud settings.

If you have a computer you can also use the Adobe Revel Downloader to obtain all your assets. https://www.adoberevel.com/download

ICloud charges .99 per month for 50 gigs of storage. Pretty cheap i would say.
You lost a loyal customer. Adobe no more. Bye

I'm a long-time PSE user and I'm so glad I never got around to using Revel. With this new offer, what version of PSE do you have to use in order to be able to use the cloud? Also, how many GBs can I store and will my album structure be retained?

Situation similaire, 70 Go disparaîtront définitivement dans 2 mois...

Being slapped in the face twice. A few weeks back I renewed my Revel subscription. Earlier this year I bought LR 6 Stand alone.
Now Adobe asks of me to get CC, and as a bonus of some kind a get a free trial of one year.
Which is not a bonus to me because I lose my investment in LR.
Please think it over Adobe, and offer loyal users an option to convert their investment in the stand alone LR to a CC subscription.
(Edit) Just realized been slapped a third time, I’m using a Windows phone, no app available.
Had hoped to see the Windows 10 app ported to Windows 10 mobile.

I am extremely disappointed with Adobe. After expending many hours scanning in thousands of old family photos, adding tags, comments, and painfully adjusting the photo dates to provide chronological information, it appears that all of this valuable information (the “back of the photo scribblings”) is lost when downloading my photos from Revel and importing into Lightroom Creative Cloud Application. Revel had provided a means to “share” that family history with other family members both immediate and extended. I do believe you may have missed the mark judging by the other Premium users that are angry at the total disregard of their time and efforts by providing an inferior migration capability. I, for one, will not be renewing my Premium enrollment in the future with any of Adobe's products. I just cannot take a chance that my efforts with be wasted at the next upgrade.

I agree. My whole world has been up endind and i am really pissed. Right in the middle of the thanksgiving/christmas holidays.
I too had spent months upon months scanning my late fathers slides and photos, now am faced with the BS task of up loading to iCloud. They for sure won't betray their loyal customers.
Adobe must be in some fiscal downward disaster and is probably going under. Why else would they screw all their Revel members.
Thanks for nothing.

My mother taught me to admit when I make a mistake, and then to apologize, make it right and carry on. So to the many people I have recommended Adobe Revel to, I am so very sorry. You most likely will not take my advice again, but since Adobe has forced you and I to look elsewhere for photo storage/sharing needs, you might want to take a look at SmugMug. For the same price I paid for a yearly premium Adobe Revel membership ($60) with Smugmug I can have unlimited uploads, get my original file downloaded back when needed, make individual galleries public or private or only viewable if one is supplied a link. Online printing is available too. I can share individual images with a link or entire galleries. And here is a great feature that Adobe Revel missed, if sending someone an entire gallery/album the recipient can select to download the entire album at once. With Revel, each image needed to be downloaded one at a time. With this plan you may also link your domain name if you so choose and images are 'right click, save-as' protected. They have a cheaper plan that is identical except for the last two mentioned features, it is $40 a year. My mother also taught me to give thanks when it is due, so thank you Adobe for helping me find a silver lining out of the dark creative cloud experience.

Thanks for the tip Kathi, SmugMug sounds like a good option for me instead of Adobe's services! Now I only need to figure out how to cancel the auto renewal of my Revel subscription and to remove my credit card info from the site.

Does anybody have a some recommendation how to do that? In the Revel site, if I click on "manage subscription" I'm redirected to accounts.adobe.com where I don't see my Revel subscription, only the creative cloud free subscription option. And neither there is a menu to edit my payment options to remove my card.

for years I paid directly to Adobe, but just a few months ago I fell for Adobe's letter informing me that I could also pay through Apple and iTunes. Now I must figure out my balance with Apple which does not make any sense, lesson learned I guess.

I have the storage cloud a few years now and was very satisfied as a paying user.
Now I just leave my plan....?
You didn't offer an alternative.

I don't need to download it, I have it all here but just for the easy way of having it on all my devices.
And for the risk of losing it all cause of fire or someone steeling all the devices here at home...
It took me a lot of time to upload it all and had a lot of fun showing it my kids every moment I wanted it.

Why just not wait to quit this Revel picture and video storage on the cloud till you arranged the new service on the cloud for migrate my 78GB? Seriously will have to look for an alternative.

So frustrating! This is absurd. The instructions are horrible. Please provide step by step instructions to get all of my photos back onto my laptop. I downloaded the download tool and have accessed my libraries. I cannot find any options to import or download anywhere. Where do I "choose a destination"? Please advise.

Kristen,
I just replied to Vincenzo (Post below yours) with some steps. I'll copy paste them here.

Once you download and launch the Adobe Revel Downloader a log-in screen will present itself.
You need to log into your account that contains your Revel assets.
Once you do that you'll see a list of your libraries and your shared libraries.
Select the libraries you want to download.
There's a "Choose destination" button on the bottom of the application dialog. Select your destination.
After you choose your destination select the "Download" button.

Let us know if that isn't working for you.

Kristen,

If you paid Adobe directly (you would have gone through the Adobe Revel Website to purchase) we are processing refunds now.
If you paid through Apple/iTunes from the Mac or iOS you'll need to contact Apple as they exclusively handle the accounting for subscriptions.

Dear Jason R,

Could you please advise me how to stop the auto renewal option on my monthly subscription? If I click in Revel on the "Manage subscription" button it takes me to "accounts.adobe.com", where there is nothing about Revel among my plans (please see attached picture). Since my subscription now is obsolete for me -as I only used it as a safe backup- I have no intention paying Adobe any more money. Also I would like to remove my credit card details from the payment methods, which I also couldn't find.

Looking forward to your response, thanks,
Gabor

Gabor,

If you subscribed via Adobe (and not iTunes/Apple) we turned off all the Revel auto renewal functionality so you won't be billed. No action is required on your part to discontinue billing if you purchased through Adobe.

Dear Jason,

I just got the text message from my bank that Adobe BILLED me for my Revel account, which should've been stopped according to your comment above. Since I have no control over the auto renewal function, nor I can remove my credit card info, I would say this is STEALING...
I understand this must be a technical issue, so I would like to kindly ask you to get your responsible people get in touch with me and take care of a refund immediately. As well as really stop the auto renewal from now on and remove my credit card info!
Until that, please let me know what official (government) authority I can report this issue if it's not gonna be resolved.

Thanks you,
Gabor

P.s.: Just to be clear, I've subscribed via Adobe, not Apple.

So my annual subscription renewed in June and I payed via iTunes from my iOS. I contacted Apple for a refund (for the period the service doesn't exist anymore (February to June 2016) and the told me that I should contact Adobe, because they can't do a refund. So how do I get the money back for a service I paid for a full year and I can't use in February anymore?

Hello — My revel account states I have 19803 photos for 67,77 Go. After I downloaded everything with the REvel Dowloader I have 9735 files. Additionally All albums directories seems to appear at first when download is initiated but then dissapear once download is complete. I am using OS X 10.11.1 on both a laptop and an imac. Tried on both machines and it happens the same. Can someone advise if files are missing? And if I can get my albums back?

Hi Michael,
Sorry you're having problems.
In the main library folder do you see a summary file?
Also with the downloader open if you shift+ctrl+d the folder containing a file called "download-log.json"
I'll contact you with the email you signed up on the forum with and you can send those to me.

Adobe is pushing Lightroom, but sharing photos using Lightroom is a royal pain and not worth the effort. I really was hoping that I had found a product to manage and correct my photos and then to easily share. Well, looks like Adobe changed their mind and decided they don't want my business.

After reading all the messages of frustration, disappointment, anger and dismay, all I can say is ditto. For a while, I tried to be a good boy and switch to Lightroom, but that system is so dense and counter-intuitive it gave me a headache. So now, for my troubles, they offer a free CC subscription and send me a long registration code, but when I entered it, I got an error message saying it was wrong. Good Lord, if Matt Damon can science his way back from Mars, you would think Adobe could give me a complimentary code that works.

You hear this theme over and over on this thread -- what ever happened to customer loyalty? Apple is doing the same thing, trying to move everybody to their Photo app made for people who take selfies and don't know what a color slide looks like. Like most of my fellow disgruntled customers, all I want is a cloud storage service where I can reliably store, attractively display and easily share my photos. Now that doesn't seem so hard, does it?

For cloud backup, I guess I'll have to stick with Google Drive which gives me 1T of storage space for $9.99 per month. It's not pretty but it does the job.

Hasta la vista, Adobe.

I'm sorry for frustration. As a Revel user myself having to migrate I do understand.

I'm not sure why your redemption code didn't work and I have no visibility into that system. I will have an account support agent contact you directly to the email you signed up on this forum.

Again I apologize for the trouble.

For any that purchased Revel via Apple I have great news for you.
I've never needed to contact Apple so was not sure what to do. Checked their website, found link, emailed with request for refund.
Later in day I received a very polite email agreeing to refund. Moneies would be paid to my account within ten days.
You can imagine my surprise when next morning I received another email saying monies had already been credited back to me!
All I can say is Than You to Apple for excellent customer service and SHAME to Adobe for appalling customer care!!
If you are reading this Adobe, when are you going to finally say SORRY!!!

The email I received for refund came from:
musicstore_mac_uk@apple.com
The helpful person that dealt with it was 'Kel' from iTunes Store Customer Support.
The link that might be helpful is:
http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/wow
Yearly subscription refund is now in my account.
Couldn't be happier at present with Apple customer care. There has been times they have let me down but in this instance I have to give credit where credit is due.
Adobe, still no apology from you!
Hope all goes well with your refund.
Regards,
Ornella

I am so disappointed with Adobe this will be the last product I ever purchase from them. The solution to ask us to move to a product that doesn't offer the same features is ridiculous.

Sure you expect us to spend countless hours with a new service to only change it for the worse in the future?

All those hours wasted.........

When will you learn that customer service is the key to success, without customer you have nothing!!!!

I am hugely disappointed in this move as well. What was the point of paying for months to have this storage facility to see it withdrawn? This is not the first time Adobe has done something radical without concern for the user.
