How do I download my photos and videos from the Revel cloud.

If you have access to a Mac or Windows computer

1. Download the Adobe Revel Downloader: https://www.adoberevel.com/download
2. Log in using your Adobe ID and password
3. Click "Choose a destination" and point the downloader to a location that can accommodate the size of the library or libraries you want to download
4. Click "Download"
5. Your library will be downloaded to the location you specify

If you only have a mobile device

1. Open Revel on your device
2. In the library you want to download switch to "Grid" view Show>Grid
3. Tap the "Action" icon in the top right (box with arrow)
4. Select "Save to Camera Roll"
5. Select all the image you wish to download. Note: You can tap drag in grid view on iOS to make selections quickly
6. Tap "Save to Camera Roll"
Note: video does not save to camera roll. You will need to use the Adobe Revel Downloader and a computer to save that content.

FAQ:

Will my Revel Libraries be automatically transferred to the Creative Cloud Photography Plan?

No. You must download your assets using the Adobe Revel Downloader. Then import the assets into Lightroom.

I'm getting a message there's not enough space?

On your computer: Using the Adobe Revel Downloader we give you an estimate on how much space will be needed to download. If you have many edited images and many libraries shared with you, we don't include those numbers in the estimate until we actually attempt the download. If you are getting an error about space select fewer libraries, free up disk space or acquire a drive with more space. You can point Adobe Revel Downloader to removable media.

On your mobile device: If you only have a mobile device you will have to select fewer images and/or transfer existing data to a storage card/sim to make room for your downloads. Alternatively you could have family or friends with a computer download the Adobe Revel Downloader and download your data for you.

The Adobe Revel Downloader's download button says one size but when I actually download it's more than that.

You likely have a shared library from friends or family in your library view. We don't compute or report the size of these libraries until we queue all the images for download, and that happens after you click “Download.”

I don't want the Adobe Revel Downloader to download libraries shared with me.

Simply uncheck any library you do not wish to download.

How do I find my files after I download them using the Adobe Revel Downloader?

Your files are saved in the folder you specified when setting up the download. Within that folder, you’ll see a folder for each Library along with a summary. Albums are shown as sub-folders within each Library folder. If a file is inside an album, it will only appear within the album folder. If a file is used in multiple albums each album will have a copy of the image.

The Revel application shows a smaller number of files than what downloaded using the Adobe Revel downloader.

This could happen for a couple reasons. If you’ve edited a file, we download both the edited file and the unedited original. In the app, these two versions are counted as one file. Additionally, you may have one photo in two or more albums. We place copies of your originals into each of the album folders when you download your files.

What are the -edited files I see in my Adobe Revel Download folder?

If you edited files in Revel, we’ll provide both the edited original and the unedited original. The edited version will have “-edited” appended to the filename.

Why are the -edited files downloaded with the Adobe Revel Downloader smaller than the original?

The original file from the cloud has the original compression algorithm used by the device that captured the original image. When you edited the image in Revel, the Revel application used a more efficient compression algorithm, resulting in a smaller file size.

What are the -downsized files I see in my Adobe Revel Download folder?

When we upload your files to the cloud, we send a preview that enables you to view the files anywhere. After that preview is uploaded, we then complete the upload of the original file. In cases where the original was never successfully uploaded, we’ll provide you with the preview file, which has “-downsized” appended to the filename.

I have a lot of favorites. How do I preserve my favorites?

If you’ve marked files as favorites in Revel and you would like to download them specifically:

On your mobile device: View your favorites and download just your favorites.

On your computer: Open Revel on your computer and make an album of your favorites. When you download your files using the Adobe Revel Downloader, your favorites will be available from that album.

1. In Revel on your computer click the favorites icon (The heart icon)
2. Assure "Showing: All Favorites" is set
3. Select all your favorites Edit>Select All
4. Click the new album button (box with a plus)
5. Click "Add to New Album"
6. Give the album a name you'll recognize
7. Accept the name.
8. Download your library using the Adobe Revel Downloader

You're favorites will appear in their own folder

What happened to my comments?

Comment data is not preserved using the Adobe Revel Downloader

What happens to my Events?

If you’ve created events in Revel and you would like to preserve them you will need to make a Revel album that corresponds with each event you are interested in preserving and copy the event photos into albums. Then use the Adobe Revel Downloader to download your library and your events will be downloaded as albums.

What happened to my captions?

Caption data is only saved on an asset that has been edited. The caption will be in the assets "Description" metadata field. Original non-edited images that have been captioned will not retain the caption.

I had adjusted dates in Revel will those be preserved?

Date adjustments are not preserved using the Adobe Revel Downloader

What happens to my account and files in the cloud after I download files using the Adobe Revel Downloader?

You’ll still have full access to your libraries using the Revel Downloader and Revel apps until February 23, 2016. However, once you’ve successfully downloaded your Revel files we recommend that you remove and discontinue use of the Revel apps.

I have shared libraries with people will they be able to download those libraries using the Adobe Revel Downloader?

Yes. All the content of any shared library will be available to friends and family you have shared with.

What will happened with my shared album/gallery links?

Shared web gallery links will be accessible until we close the Revel service on February 23, 2016.

I paid for Revel what happens to my Annual subscription?

It's going to depend on who you purchased your subscription from. Please check your email from Adobe Revel titled, “Important notification: Download your Revel photos and videos now.” for more information.

I paid for a Revel monthly subscription through Apple and want a refund.

If you subscribed through Apple and want a refund all refunds are processed through Apple and you need to contact Apple support https://getsupport.apple.com/

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled Adobe....not enough info given to Revel CC.

I am a Revel and Photoshop CC subscriber.
What does the new 'Revel CC' mean for me. What do I need to do to be able to carry on using it.
All the links on Revel Facebook page lead me to my own Revel site! Is my subscription automatically transferred? I can no longer access Revel by desktop version but only via mobile/browser.
I only really use Photoshop CC and not Lightroom so would not like to have to change my workflow.
I have received NO email notifying me of changes and as all links I try lead me to my own site ,I am in the dark as to what is happening.
I have paid over £44 for the privilege of using it and not happy at present. ADOBE get your finger out and sort this out ASAP....please!

Wie kann ich meine Fotos von Revel direkt in die Creative Cloud verschieben (ohne Umweg über die Zwischenspeicherung auf meinem PC)? Habe viel zu wenig Platz auf meinem PC und er ist auch sehr langsam geworden.

Mario,

Unfortunately there is no way to automatically transfer your Revel assets into the Creative Cloud Photography Plan. You have to download them from Revel first, then upload them using Lightroom to the Creative Cloud Photography Plan.

I apologize for the inconvenience. I am actually having to do it myself with my own 400gb Revel library so I share your inconvenience.

Hi Jason,

if I am correct the CC will not store high res images in the as per Revel as Adobe is moving away from Cloud Storage?

If so, what Cloud Storage option would you suggest?

What are yourself, Glenyse and the rest of the team going to use?

I'd like to ask, honestly how popular this is with the users that are Adobe employees?

All I hope is, that some displeasure at this decision (that isn't really a surprise, but I thought at least a compatible product may be in the offing) was voiced internally, even knowing how difficult that can be!

Selondon,

You are correct. The Creative Cloud Photography Plan syncs to mobile using smart previews and the originals are stored locally by the user. Adobe is planning on providing cloud storage for original photos in the future. So that's something to look forward to.

Those of us who used Revel and were fans are very very sad to see it go.  We're all having to move the Creative Cloud Photography Plan and dealing with the same pain as our Revel customers.

Why Adobe is acting so easily and untrue to it's "Premium and Photo Loving Users"?
Just take the risk and hope they don't leave to a concurrent....
It should be fair you offer a problemless migration from Revel to annother Adobe Storage. And I think it'a a big Joke you offer no such an alternativ anno 2015.

I have 67GB. The whole point of Revel is that my assets were in the cloud, likely with redundant backups (I bet they use AWS or similar). Now, I get use of their software, which I frankly do not care about. New pics from iOS I understand are up on Adobe's servers, but what about my 67GB? So now I'm responsible for my assets? That's why I'm paying you Adobe! Obviously a step backwards. This is unbelievable. Worst than the recent OneDrive announce.

I agree. I was using Revel to store high res backups and share with clients because of the unlimited storage space. I used Adobe because of it's reputation and because I thought I could depend on it to be around and fold up like some fly-by-night operation. Currently going over my data cap for internet provider and will have to pay extra for that. Thanks for nothing Adobe :[

Adobe is doing away with a product and not offering anything comparable to replace it. Look at Smug Mug to store and share you pictures and look at any other product to locally manage and edit your pics. Its clear Adobe doesn't want out business any more.

The same for me. I invested a lot of time to store around 50GB of pictures at Revel.

And now, just stop it?

01/11/2015 the price for a year has risen to €59,99 via iTunes store, I did that (meber since a few years), payed that and now it just stopped?

What is the plan?

I had Adobe Workspaces, that stopped...

I had Adobe Revel, it stopped...

What to do now?

"Members tell us that the Creative Cloud Photography plan — which includes access to Adobe Photoshop CC and Lightroom CC — is the best solution for organizing, editing and sharing their images."

This was in an email sent to me today. As a member, telling me what members told Adobe without asking all members is rude. It implies I am not part of a membership to which I pay a premium to belong.

I apologize for you feeling slighted. That wasn't the intent.

I'm not sure to what marketing was referring but I am guessing they do sample surveys of the Creative Cloud Photography plan membership from time to time.  I will certainly pass on your comments to the product marketing team.

If you already have Lightroom and Lightroom Mobile with your CC subscription you simply need to assure you have all your assets out of the the Revel cloud using the Adobe Revel Downloader  (See the FAQ above or here for downloader details: https://www.adoberevel.com/transition-faq). I'm a long-time PSE user and I'm so glad I never got around to using Revel. With this new offer, what version of PSE do you have to use in order to be able to use the cloud? Also, how many GBs can I store and will my album structure be retained?

This is an outrage!
1. I am Premium member
2. I have more than 150 GB uploaded. How many months should I all this data upload? Who pays for this time? Adobe?
3. In the new offer, not the original data is backed up, but only a smart-View. It's a scam! As a Premium Member was the agreement that the original data in Revel are stored.
4. I do not want credit but my money back.

Now I have to ask Apple to refund? Adobe made a mistake with his Premium Clients so please organise it directly with the users and later on get your money from the App-store.

I have 250gb uploaded. I stopped using s computer years ago, now using only iPad and iPhone. Many images are ireeplaceable family memories thy I've been paying Adobe to care for and store. What am I meant to do now? Buy an expensive computer to download YEARS of uploads, because Adobe cannot be trusted? Are you going to psychic it, Adobe? I feel you should refund every damned penny we've all given you over the years. And you wNt us to invest in your new product? Why would we do that? So you can do the same to us again? Not only that, you've just (yesterday) had the cheek to take my monthly payment again - just as the iOS app did its usual memory hogging bloat on my iPhone, necessitating yet another uninstall to clear the swollen cache / guess what? Re-installation is no longer available from the App Store!!! One DAY after you've taken my money again!!! I foresee a class action law suit in the offing, Adobe. And as for your employee responses saying 'I feel your pain, it's affecting me too'? What a CROCK!!

T‌ry CC......You expect me to trust Adobe again after this?

Apart from everyone's time, commitment to and mostly love for Revel, with it's nice design and simplicity, it has been replaced with a storage option that is sub-standard for my needs.

I myself, use Revel not much for editing but as a Cloud to share with family and friends, much as sold on the website.

Adobe has decided to no longer wants to provide this Cloud storage service and thus tries to push all users down the photo editing route at probably a higher expense.

Even as an Adobe CC user at work.....
I'm Out.

Such a good product with such poor belief in it from Adobe.

Gutted and will miss it and am very, very disappointed in this decision to end a product that my family and I have had many happy memories using.

Jason, As to your reply sending a link to someone is simply that. They apparently have to find that link every time they want to view the folder. Unlike Revel that allows the user to share a library which in turn allows those invited to receive pics within their Revel app and that library can then be added to by either party, no looking to find a link that is apparently singular in direction. Also running multiple applications of Lightroom, eg: PC at home and Mac at work Lightroom asked each time which one to sync to Mobile. No matter which one is checked all imported collections from other computer are deleted, visa versa if the other is checked to sync. It seems to me that simply changing the name from Revel to Lightroom Mobile and linking that platform inside Lightroom would make more sense that having your customers completely switch platforms. I have already spent several hours just trying to figure out exactly what Mobile does beside just syncing ones pictures and from one computer for the users use. It doesn't appear it is actually set up as Revel for sharing easily.

Jason R.,

Do you actually use Lightroom or Photoshop? You seem to be working fom a script. As a full creativecloud subscriber, I already have Lightroom, PhotoShop, about 12 other Adobe apps that I use and access to the rest. I do not need or want a photography plan. Nor do I need to download anything. I already have copies both local and cloud.

People want to know what is going on. Many here need a lot more space than seems to be available with the plan you're pushing. They need answers not a telemarketing script.

And, when did Adobe outsource its forums?

Alfred,

I am,a tester in the Adobe Digital Imaging group - thank you for asking. We aren't professional support people and help on the forums so that Adobe employees can answer questions and help customers. Glad you appreciate our being on here.

Adobe has chosen, as announced to close the Revel service. As I have mentioned to others. It's a service that I actually used heavily. So I'm sad to see it go. The Adobe option for replacement of the service is the Lightroom and Lightroom mobile solution.  Right now it uses smart previews to accomplish the syncing to mobile.  In the future Adobe will have options to store the originals in the Creative Cloud Photography plan in the cloud.

Hope this help

I already have Lightroom and PhotoShop and InDesign and nine other CC apps installed plus access to the rest if and when I need them. I store everythng in more than one place so there won't be one point of failure that kills my business.

So no, it doesn't help Jason. And I'm not a heavy user of revel. It was never a match for my needs.

Exactly. Not to mention the typo in last paragraph that we get a "-day" trial. Adobe needs to proofread their Marcomm.
Cannot believe they are forcing users to apply for refunds via Apple. It's nice for them to direct us to Apple, not so nice for us. My agreement is with Adobe, not Apple. I also assume it will be some sort of prorated refund.
I hope enough users provide feedback and Adobe revisits the decision to deprecate the service as of 2/16.
Finally, the implication of future availability of cloud storage "plans" smells like a premium add-on.
Time to jump ship. Never again.

Ssteven and David,
Sorry for the confusion and frustration.

If you purchased your annual subscription through Adobe we have the ability to provide the refund. If you purchased through Apple/iTunes you have to request your refund through them. I wish we didn't have to refer you to Apple, but that's how the Adobe/Apple app store payment policy works.

Again, sorry for the trouble this causes you.

Dear Adobe, I understand that you are canceling Revel, so I would like an option to cancel my -now- obsolete subscription, which you did not offer. I don't see my PAID subscription among "my current" plans, only a free CC plan, there is no option to cancel automatic renewal, I cannot see my registered payment options to cancel them and remove my card and I couldn't find a way to contact you in a decent way, other but a forum. Not to mention that in the last months I've spent days (or rather weeks) uploading and organizing my photos, to have a solid backup solution and paid you unnecessary for several months, since it's not gonna last.
I'm really disappointed in your service.
Please help me resolve this! I think that correct way would be some refund for your users, who choose you to back up and now you are letting us down.

This really sucks, I have been an Adobe Elements user for over ten years, upgraded in 09 and was considering doing it again to stay current. NOT NOW! I am just an enthusiast snap shooter but I love my photographs and wanted a safe place as a backup for my files. In my retirement I plan to digitize my film negatives & photos and was planning on using Adobe Elements as my organizing and editing tools. NOT NOW!
First we had to change from Elements Backup to Revel, which you sold as being the best thing for us users since sliced bread. Now you tell us Creative Cloud is even better and we will love it.
FORGET IT. Adobe seems to have forgotten about keeping existing customers happy and they will pay for it in the long term. I don't see any comments above stating how overjoyed they are about this change and Jason please don't bother wasting your time on a half hearted apology about how sorry you are. My advice to you is find a new job with a company that truly cares about it's customers and product end users. GOODBYE ADOBE. EX CUSTOMER.

I'm not happy about this either. As a Elements user I will not purchase a CC subscription with PS and Lightroom. I will move my stuff away from Adobe.

This is SO my sentiment too ... I can't believe Adobe is doing this to us AGAIN! Transferring photos from Photoshop.com to Revel resulted in so much lost work of labeling and organizing and now Adobe is doing it again to it's long time customers ... and, at the busiest time of year. Reading through your FAQ, it's clear that all the re-done work will be lost once again. At least when you transferred to Revel, you did it directly. Now, we all have to actually download everything onto our computers. Most of us will have to purchase an external hard drive to accommodate all the data. I tried to stick with you Adobe, but you truly made it clear that you don't want us.

I can't believe that Adobe is making users download the files and then upload them. There really should be a way to just move them from one Adobe service to another. In addition, users are losing the web access to the files.

MAC users lost iPhoto and Apperture. I thought Adobe Reveal and Lightroom would be a good replacement but now Reveal is going away and Lightroom doesn't offer sharing the same way.

Guess its time to move away from Adobe now.

I it very clear that Adobe has no respect to its customers, and worse, no regards to the time we invest using Adobe technology. Couple of years ago Adobe made us spend weeks of work transforming from Photoshope.com to Revel.com , now AGAIN we have to move, but to where? There is no clouds storage anymore.

This is a case the Adobe's executive management don't want to connect with its customers, their source of income.

Philippe,

You can download your data from the Revel cloud using the Adobe Revel Downloader tool.

I'm very sorry for the trouble this has caused you.

This reply was created from a merged topic originally titled refund info is NOT in the email you sent me.

I purchased my premium plan directly from Adobe. I have half a year left on my current yearly cycle. I want what is left of my plan to be applied to the new plan. How do I do this? Despite what has been stated here on this forum, refund information is NOT in the email that Adobe sent me. I have recommended Adobe Revel to many people over the past few years and now I feel like an idiot. My sister just this past week paid for a yearly premium membership only to be sent an email yesterday announcing it is being dropped. She already has over 15k images and videos uploaded. I have over 100 GB stored myself, and now I will need to download them back to my computer and upload them all again into Lightroom?! Why can't my 6 months remaining Adobe Revel balance be applied towards the new plan, and once payment is received, ADOBE move my images to the new cloud?

Kathi,

I understand and sympathize with your frustration and I'm very sorry for the trouble it's causing you and everyone else.

If you purchased your Revel subscription directly from Adobe, Adobe is automatically refunding your subscription.

If you purchased your Revel subscription from inside the iOS apps you'll need to request a refund from Apple/iTunes as they handle all the accounting for subscriptions from the app.

Hope this helps.

Jason,

Adobe recommend to download the Revel assets and bring them back to Lightroom.

I have the original RAW/DNG images in Lightroom, which I have converted to JPG and uploaded It into albums in Revel. Bringing these back to Lightroom will creat duplicates in Lightroom. Hence, jpg and DNG files with the same images.

Since the Album names is Revel do not necessarily correspond to the Lightroom Collections, however the image file name less the file extension (.dng, .jpg), is there any way to create the Revel Album names and Collections in LR and bring back the link to the original .dng file rather then import in the .jpg file?

Gadi,

Unfortunately there isn't any automated way to do this.
I apologize for the inconvenience.

Jason. Can you give us an idea of the timeline to offer the full resolution sync like we have in revel now? Is it possible that this could be in place prior to killing revel?
