A follow up on the latest update to Photoshop CC2018 19.1.1

After updating to version 19.1.1 CC 2018, the Select and Mask tool on both my Mac and PC is not working (no sliders in the properties panel). I eventually found a new tab 'Reset Select and Mask' in the spot where you normally change your workspace. This tab is unique as far as I can tell in that  there is no equivalent for any other tool. Neither is this tab documented.  Also I found nothing by Googling the issue with a broad range of search terms. Anybody else had the problem?

Select and Mask is an entirely new window, not sliders in the properties panel. Perhaps you're thinking of the legacy Refine Edge?

Select and Mask isn't a tool. It IS a workspace. It's appropriate that you would see a Reset Select and Mask there. If you open Select and Mask and see nothing, that would be the first thing to try, since the entire workspace has gone wonky, something I've never seen myself—but when updating, settings can become corrupt.  The other Reset icon in the workspace is at the bottom and should reset all your settings in the panel.

So you didn't say, but did resetting the workspace do the trick for you? Do you now see all the appropriate sliders? And Earth is right—you can access Select and Mask from the Properties panel if a mask is targeted, but the sliders there are for modifying the mask and have nothing to do with S&M.  I'm guessing you know the difference and didn't know what to call the panel in S&M with all the settings options. I don't either, so I call it a panel since this is a workspace.<G>

Thank you for your reply Cristen. Yes hitting the reset has cured the issue. Why am I so unlucky as to have the issue on both my PC and Mac, I am feeling picked upon!! Knowing what I now know, I went back and searched both the web and the Help files and failed to get any hits. It is funny with hindsight looking back at the things we were trying to blame and attempted solutions including reinstalling Photoshop, changing graphics card settings, looking for Onion SKin (which has never been in Refine Edge!), etc. On reflection the thing that blinded us was the presence of a corrupt Properties panel  that had some but not all of the sliders - it caused me to think that you had to go to Refine Edge to get things working which is of course not true!

Good to know it got resolved. I understand feeling picked upon. I feel it all the time when I have to troubleshoot something on my computers. LOL
