A fix for the Photoshop CC 2017 stopped working problem with no Lavasoft !!!!!

I had the problem with both Photoshop and Dreamweaver - could not run CC 2017, and was forced to go back to 2014 versions.

The fix?  Someone suggested I try ADWcleaner, which gets rid of AVG toolbar, Lavasoft and other nasty bits of software. Previously I had done scans for missing Microsoft files, tried other "cleaner" utilities, but nothing worked. ADWcleaner 6.030 WORKED !!!!! You can download it from here:   https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/

AdwCleaner is a great utility. Trust it and use every month or so.

I was sooo happy I came across this AdwCleaner fix! Thank you for sharing that link. I too tried other cleaners to no avail but this one did the trick. I really appreciate the tip!

Help. I've not lavasoft, tried the malware clean listed above, which came up totally clean, but having constant 'Photoshop CC2017 not working' messages. Any other ideas?

I fixed the problem. Finally I found a solution that has nothing to do with Lavasoft. I never had any Lavasoft products in my computer, so it was quite frustrating  to search and always being suggested to remove files from a product I never had.

Anyway, I had to reset my preferences. Seems like there's a conflict with the preferences. The trade-off is that  you will lose your Photoshop preferences.

Here's the article:

Just remove the Preferences files from where  your computer keeps it and then restart Photoshop. It worked with my PS CC 2017.
