Found "Bug" fix for 'printer graying out'
Need advanced tech to contact me...(not over seas techs)
Have found one reason "print" grays out... A bit complicated (I have 4 pages of notes) Not sure if this is the complete reason, but I can duplicate the "graying out" on demand... Should give the devs a place to start (if it isn't the entire problem)

Called tech support and only got overseas (who couldn't help me...or contact Adobe directly... This is support?) Try to help and meet with all kinds of resistance.
Does Adobe even care?

Which product are you using?
Which version?

Which OS version?

What do you mean by "printer graying out"?

Sorry CS5, but noticed people have been having this problem as far back as CS3 (maybe earlier)

CS5/ Win 7... All drivers/ updates are up to date. Pc can handle all the requirements of CS5.

Open CS5, print is available. (Long story), but I hit 'print' and it grayed out and was no longer available (and nothing printed) CS5 still worked normally and other functions worked...except print.

By accident, I stumbled across one of the reasons that caused the 'print' option to gray out (become unavailable)... steps to recreate the problem, etc.
I read on the forums one of Adobe's techs said something about they haven't been able to reproduce 'graying out' on demand.
I can reproduce what I found (again, a long story) and it could give the devs a lead as to at least one of the problems that causes graying out of the print option.

Most likely too long to describe here on the forums... If someone wants the info email me... as long as I don't have to keep playing "email tag" with a dozen techs everyone asking what I found, then the next asking the same thing....etc. (I've run into this in the past with other software companies and even though it led to them fixing a bug (well, 3 out of 5 times) I spent weeks emailing once the 1st tech contacted me... then the 2nd...the 3rd... you get the idea.

Today I spend nearly an hour on the phone went through three overseas techs only to find out they had no way of either contacting your Adobe senior techs, or someone that knew enough to handle bug solutions. (even possible solutions)
I wonder how many bug information reports have been missed by people just giving up in frustration?

Anyhow, if someone wants to contact me by email, feel free to do so.

Apparently Robert mistakenly created a 32 bit/channel document -- and printing is supposed to be disabled for 32 bit/channel documents because there is no way to print infinitely ranged data.

The problem that other people have reported is the print command getting grayed out semi-randomly on 8 and 16 bit/channel documents (where print is supposed to be enabled).

Ah, thought I'd stumbled onto something... but 8 and 16 printed ok....

Could be some people are clicking 32 bit by mistake and have the problem.
Or maybe forgetting to convert 32 bit projects back to a lower setting when done...

Might be something for those with the 'grayed out' print option to check?
