PHOTOSHOP: 3D printing issue with objects with a flat underside which doesn't touch the ground plane

3D printing/slicing engine cannot handle horizontal flat surfaces on the underside of an object which is not in contact with the ground plane

In a case such as the above example, there is no support for longer stretches of surface area, and it results in sagging strands of filament.
