Photoshop: 3D Volume broken

In Photoshop CC2019, 3D volume is broken.

To test create a text layer and duplicate it (Ctrl+J)
Select both layers
Go to 3D panel and create 3D volume.

In CC2018 a volume model is produced. In CC2019 the area is blank and further work can result in the GPU being disabled

There is no workaround except to use CC2018

I agree with this. I tried loading dicom files from a CT scan. On my PC, the result in CC2019 was a white square filling the screen. On the laptop, there was nothing on the screen, but the volume was there because right clicking worked.

I loaded the files into CC2018 and successfully created a volume. Volumetric style: Normal, MIP, alpha blended, transfer function all worked. However,  solid shaded volume did not.

Is this still broken in 2020? I still can't get the 3D volume to work correctly with DICOM images

The original issue reported by David should be fixed in 21.0

Bill, can you log a separate issue with steps to repro or a link to a file to try and repro your issue with DICOM?

Although the basic process of producing the volume model works in V21.0.1  , many of the Volume scene presets and transfer functions still do not work correctly as they do in V 19.1.9.   The only reliable way to use 3D volume functions is still to step back to 19.1.9
