It would be nice if Adobe Premiere Elements could have native editing and export capability for AVCHD formats such as mts or m2ts files. This will significantly increased output quality of a project. If native support for mts or m2ts is not possible, using a “smart rendering” technic could be another alternative. In “Smart rendering” only changed parts of the move are rendered and remaining footage is untouched. This yields much better output quality. I have compared Adobe Premiere Elements 9 with Power Director 9, Avid Studio and Corel studio Pro X4, Nero 9 in term of output quality and noticed that all mentioned applications have much less degradation than Adobe Premiere Elements 9. Premiere Elements had the smoothest transitions though.
