Elements 2018: Does not recognise photos library on macOS

I have just upgraded to the 2018 version of Photoshop Elements. I have a Mac (OS High Sierra 10.13.3) and use Photos to download my photographs. Elements does not recognise the photos library, and the only way I can get to edit my photos is to copy them into a different folder which Elements recognises. It's also a bit difficult to locate an output folder that hasnt been used before - I can't seem to create a new output folder

Following. Another issue between Adobe's Elements and Mac O/S? My Elements version is 14, and my MacBookPro has also has High Sierra 10.13.3. No plan to spend on another Elements upgrade though.

You may need to remove Elements,l reboot, then reinstall it.   It doesn't have all of its elements.
