AVCHD file format with 5.1 surround sound is becoming more and more popular format for both recording and as well as storing and sharing. Most of video editing programs such a Cyberlink Power director, Avid Studio, Corel Studio Pro x4, Sony Vegas already have AVCHD support with 5.1 surround sound. Corel studio pro X4 takes it even one step further and even creates background music using Smart Sounds in 5.1 surround sound format. Although it is possible to import and edit in Adobe Premiere Elements 9 m2ts or mts files with 5.1 surround sound, the final project cannot be exported in this format. Inability to export to AVCHD format and limiting audio output to 2 stereo channels only for remaining HD formats is significant limitation of current version of a program.

It is useless to edit movies with 5.1 surround sound if they cannot be exported in this format. Give us ability to export to AVCHD with 5.1 surround sound.

Please add export support for Dolby Digital 5.1 channel audio for Share/Disc/AVCHD or Blu-ray creation and for Share /Computer.
Limiting audio output format to Stereo only in disc creation and PC file share is significant limitation of a new PE10. Most of today’s move cameras record in 5.1 audio and it would be nice to take advantage of this. If implementing this request in new PE10 is expensive from licencing perspective, give us the pug in module that could be purchased separately for PE10 that will allow us to crate files and discs in Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.

If you need 5.1 sound export, switch to Sony Movie Studio - half the price (~70$), with 5.1 export for free.

In Premiere Pro CS5 the 5.1 filter costs 295 US$. Bad contract with Dolby, or simply good deal for Adobe.

Still no 5.1?

Three years since it was requested!
I have spent so much money on video editing programs that does not work. It is very frustrating. How on earth do Adobe expect me to pay a lot of money for this program when I know already from start that it will not work?

This is so stupid!

Although Sony Movie Studio will produce 5.1 sound, if you author it in DVD Architect with a menu it changes the 5.1 to stereo. It will not burn HD dvd's with a menu and 5.1 sound
