Photoshop: PS 14.2.1: 16-bit RGB hang and crash

When working on a larger 16-bit layered image, zooming in causes photoshop not to update the screen. Converting image to 8-bit at this point causes crash.

The lack of updating sounds like a video card driver issue.

Please update your video card driver from your GPU maker's website (Nvidia, AMD/ATI, or Intel).

If that doesn't work, try disabling GPU drawing in Photoshop's preferences.

Thank you for your reply. The drivers are up to date. I am using a quadro 4000.
If I disable "use graphics processor" it behaves correctly.

I will use this setting for now, but ideally it should work with a quadro as well. Thanks again for your help.

That still means it could be a bug in the driver software. We'll see if we can reproduce the problem.
