Since I don't use Photoshop as much as I used to, I've started noticing numerous UI and workflow patterns that are sometimes surprisingly, ehm, sub-optimal. Things that I had gotten used to over the past 25 years of using, and, mostly, loving Photoshop on a daily basis. 
One of those things that nowaday kinda blows my mind is the modal window you get slapped silly with, each and everytime you're trying to edit a Locked Layer. It feels like such an obvious remnant from ancient times, that I'm surprised it was allowed to survive and exist in the firt "golden age" of User Experience! :)

Now imagine how annoying this must be for new users who are trying to learn and love Photoshop.
