"Store a Copy of all Originals" on a remote filesystem (fs) on NAS has poor outcome when a NAS has to be reconnected (MacOS).

Lightroom attempts to move/check all photos, including previously synced photos.

Lightroom CC is not able to re-connect to the NAS remote fs after a NAS is disconnected/reconnected (when restarting laptop).  As a result, Lightroom is not able to sync newly added photos.  When browsing to the same NAS again, Lightroom forces a check/move of all photos.  This leaves Lightroom useless while all photos are checked, a library of 4,000 photos can take me hours.

I can postpone until later, but I'll have to eventually run a "check"

I am not seeing that issue with my NAS, Earl. Regardless of whether I disconnect from the network, restart the machine or however else the connection is broken, Lightroom reconnects and I do not see this message.

How are you mounting your NAS?

It's mounted as a network drive in MacOS (i.e., Connect to Server > smb://volume/path/to/dir)
Within LR-CC, "Store a copy of all originals" is configured as /volumes/path/to/dir.  This path remains constant throughout NAS mounts and unmounts through restarts, NAS disconnects, etc.

I've disabled this feature at this point but adding more info. I did get a yellow or red warning flag when starting LR-CC and the NAS fs is disconnected, the message prompt is something like "cannot find volume" when attempting to sync.  To correct it, I'll re-mount the NAS, restart LR-CC, and let it sync to clear that prompt.  That used to be enough (been using LR-CC for some months now), but recently been running into my original issue as posted.

If you mount using the Volume name instead of the address do you still see the issue?
