.psd file is missing chunks of image when reopened.

So this has happened twice on my Macbook Pro. I have saved a file as a .psd and when I reopened it to work again there are chunks of the image missing. The first time it was two placed objects and one rectangle I drew. The center of these images were missing and showing transparency through it. The thumbnail in finder showed the same thing. I just chalked it up as a fluke, re-did the work and saved again. Now it looks fine. However, today I opened another file and it did the same thing. Image is attached. I've shut PS down and reopened it. Nothing has changed.

Hmm, I don't know of anything that could cause that in Photoshop CS6. And while MacOS 10.10 has video driver bugs that could cause that appearance, the layers palette shows that the actual layer data is corrupted.
It looks like something has corrupted memory while the application is running.

Maybe I should get in to the habit of having no other apps open while I work in PS...

Other apps should not be able to interfere. It would have to be a bug in Photoshop, a third party plugin, the OS, or bad RAM.

Well, I had some updates to perform. Did those today, but haven't been back in Photoshop since. I also have a third party plugin that fixes a major bug with my Wacom tablet.

same thing happened to me in CS6. Also psd files.  this is not a graphics card video driver issue.  files are permanently that way and print that way.  The data is permanetly lost.  happened to me with 5 files simultaneously.
