I imported several videos from my iPhone promax using the lightroom iPhone app sync.
Video was set to most efficient.
Some show up. Most do not.
Forcing an import gives this error "The movie files contain no video frames"
I can play videos on VLC and other Windows 10 apps.
Tried to convert but did not solve the issue
Very distressing.
Would consider a mass converter but there appears to not be any

Are you running LR on Windows?  LR Windows doesn't support HEVC-encoded video. See this help article for workarounds:
https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-cc/kb/heic-files-support.html

Also, please add your constructive opinion to this feature request:
https://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/hevc-support-for-lightroom-cc-mac

Be sure to click Vote and Follow in the upper-right corner. That will make it a little more likely Adobe will prioritize the request.

My iPhone is in automatic. It creates MOV that looks like this   IMG_9174_HEVC.MOV
The file is not thumbnailed or played by Lightroom Classic 9.1

I did your other suggested steps

If you upload a sample video showing the problem to Dropbox or similar and post the sharing link here, we can verify whether it is HEVC or in fact converted to H.264.  If the latter, and LR is still choking on it, that is a separate bug that should be brought to Adobe's attention.

This video played on the previous update of LR.  However, now that LR automatically updated it won't play and no thumbnail shows.

My LR catalogs that contained .MOV files worked and displayed just fine until the most recent LR update - these files no longer will play.  When I look at the files in Finder they work just fine.
mac OS Catalina v 10.16.2
LR Classic 9.1
iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2019)

I've been using LR Classic on CC for several years without a previous problem.

Is there something I should be doing?  The catalogs were updated when first opened in the updated LR.

Is somebody working on this?  Is it possible to get a response?
