I copy a piece of image and paste it. It works the first time. but when I try to do it again. I get this: "Could not complete the copy command because the selected area is empty." It does not matter which method is used to select a piece of image. version was installed yesterday. 20160113.r355.

Sounds like the layer you want to copy from isn't selected. Or you are trying to copy from an empty layer.

Really simple fix. You need to reselect the original layer you were working on and that should work. As Dean said, sounds like you're selecting a blank layer to copy from.

I've found that if I attempt to transform from a selection I made from a layer that is NOT blank and it does not work, says it is empty, it's because my KEYSTROKE COMMAND  is not working. If I use the menu to to copy/paste, it will work...! Go figure.
