I use Lightroom Mobile on the go for photos that I shoot on my phone
from time to time. I do not need to download them to my computer nor I don't use them anywhere else other than my social media.
I also use Lightroom Classic on my Windows PC. I make my own custom named dated folders, copy my files manually and use the Lightroom libraries accordingly.
Whenever I launch my Lightroom Classic it immedietaly starts to download my entire phone gallery into my PC which is huge. I use an iPhone 6s Plus 128 GB. There is at least 40-50 GB's of content on my film roll that Adobe tries to shove down to my small SSD. I store or backup most of my content locally and by hand anyways. I also have photos that I don't want to constantly share with Adobe or any other cloud based service.
Yes, you can pause it. Yes, you
can pause it from the mobile app as well and change the storage
directories. But I do not want to pause
it and I do not want it to clog up my empty disk space which is valuable
for other things like games, music, other apps and more media. I just
want it to be disabled. There are temporary workarounds for it but I
just want a simple enable-disable function. Is it that hard or that unprofitable to add this?
The content on my phone gallery and the content on my PC is also mostly different. I take selfies, silly Snapchat filtered photos, simple family photos, screenshots, images and artworks downloaded from the internet. Stuff that I don't need stored on my PC or on the cloud on demand. I should be able to decide when and how to backup or download my gallery to my PC if I need it at all. I use my phone to upload the photos or videos to social media that I create on my PC which I can easily transfer on my phone selectively one by one.
I just want
a simple switch to disable these two functions. Or at least mobile sync. And maybe some more control over what is and how it's going to be synced. I'm sure there are tons
of benefits for people who doesn't like to take the time to transfer
files from device to device but it does not benefit me. I like to do the
syncing old fashioned. Myself and by hand. I don't think that it's a big app breaking task. Just add it please.
Thanks in advance.
