When working with a file in RGB/32 mode, trying to change the mode to 8 or 16bit causes the HDR Toning dialog to appear.

The issue persists on multiple systems. Photoshop CC 2014.2.2

Workflow-

Create new file 1920x1080/72ppi/32bit
Change mode to 8bit or 16bit
HDR Toning dialog appears

That is how it is supposed to work.
32 bit/channel is HDR, and you have to choose how to tone it when converting to LDR modes (8 or 16 bit/channel).

By switching to "Exposure and Gamma" within the HDR dialog it makes sense now. The whole local adaptation setting changed the whole look and threw me off. Thanks for the fast reply!
