Lightroom Classic CC 7.2: Publishing Categories Disappear (e.g., "New Photos to Publish")

In Adobe Lightroom Classic 7.x (including the latest 7.2), Publishing Services (e.g., "Flickr") will occasionally stop grouping photos by their publishing status (e.g., "New Photos to Publish", "Modified Photos to Re-Publish", "Deleted Photos to Remove", and "Published Photos"). In this state, those categories simply disappear, and all photos are displayed together, regardless of their publishing status.

This is what it is supposed to look like, when it's working correctly:

This is what it ends up looking like, after the bug is triggered:

This consistently occurs when the user navigates to a collection synchronized with Adobe Lightroom CC. At this point, when returning to a Publishing Service, the photos will no longer be categorized.

This can be worked around by navigating to any folder or collection that isn't synchronized with Adobe Lightroom CC first, and then returning to the Publishing Service; at that point, the Publish Service will operate as expected.

This is not a problem with collections that are not synchronized with Adobe Lightroom CC. That includes Smart Collections and Collection Sets, since neither can be synchronized.

This issue affects all Publishing Services. I have been able to consistent reproduce it using the "Hard Drive", "Facebook", "Flickr", and "500px" Publishing Services.

Thank you for looking into this,
Jeremy

It is the same for me - I am also dealing with this issue since several weeks.

But for me the "navigate to an unsynced folder" did not worked every time as far as I remember. Sometimew the update grouping would reappear, sometimes not.

I will give it a try in the evening.

Thx for posting!

I had originally thought that it was all collections, and would always need to return to a folder to "reset" the status. Before submitting this, however, I went through a more formal testing process and isolated it down to synchronized folders only. I'm definitely curious if that holds true for you as well, or if there's some confounding variable I'm missing.

Diagnostic :

macOS 10.13.3 LR Classic 7.2

Diagnostic :
Being in the list of folders, I move the thumbnail to a publication service, I display the publication service in grid mode, the poster is ok, the added photo is correctly displayed in the "to publish" section.
Being in a collection, I move the thumbnail to a publication service, I display the publication service in grid mode, there is no "to publish" section.
But in both cases the button publish is present and if operated, the publication is done!
Thank you for testing and correcting this concern.

Oh, interesting! I just started using Lightroom CC (previously Lightroom Mobile) a few months ago, which is probably why I never noticed it until recently.

I can't think of any way that publish services have changed since Lr3 - apart from the addition of the Adobe Stock plugin. This problem is intermittent and solves itself after a restart, so I just live with it.
