Photoshop CC 2015.5: "An unknown error occurred" export is totally broken

Photoshop CC 2015.5 is the most broken Photoshop in existence and it gets worse with every update. it is practically unusable. since Photoshop CC 2015 became Photoshop CC 2015.5, I am unable to export 80% of the time throwing an error message, "an unknown error occurred"

I get this error message on a daily basis and on 80% of export attempts involving both jpg and png. For an "unknown error", it surely comes up very frequently and regularly. The "Learn More" link only talks about formats such as eps that have limited capabilities but this does this with JPG and PNG export and it can take up to 50 tries before I get a successful export. every time the unknown error occurs, "Export all" becomes grayed out.

I cannot believe Adobe refuses to fix such a blocker bug that prevents from getting any work done like school work or whatever.

Justin, the first question I would ask is there any problems with your underlying platform (be it Mac or Windows) that might be contributing to the issues you are having?

Remember that computers are just like any machine and require a level of servicing over time.  The disk gets fragmented, updates on top of updates on top of updates all contribute to potential problems.  Disks are mechanical devices (apart from SSD's) where a read write heads 'float' above the surface of magnetic media while the disk is spinning at around 7200rpm.  They fail and they can get bad sectors and require a bit of surgery through, for example, Disk Utilities.

If you have heard people talking about doing a clean installation then that is one way to solve a bundle of issues in one swoop.

Hi Justin, do you have the same problem in CC 2017?

Hello Jeffrey.  Perhaps while you are responding to the question above by Justin you might wish to respond to this thread.

Yes I do! Almost just as frequent "An unknown error occurred" Photoshop CC 2017 showed some improvement but still frequents the unknown error. Photoshop CC 2015 did not have this issue, neither did 2015.1 or .2 or .3, it started with Photoshop CC 2015.5 and is STILL present in Photoshop CC 2017 :(
