Where were you when Photoshop was alone?

There was no Lightrom. The big software we all ran to learn was Photoshop. So many are complaining about lightroom. Can't you do your work in Photoshop, since Lightroom can't meet your expectations anymore? I use Photoshop Cs5 with Bridge. You should be able to create the Lightroom presets in Photoshop.

No need to get snide. Lightroom is very different from both Photoshop and Bridge. Photoshop does a great job of editing individual images, but you have to save over or save a new file when you edit it. Lightroom applies metadata so you can keep one file and make 5 virtual copies with different crops and adjustments. Then apply that in three seconds to 500 other files. Then export those with different presets for print, social media, etc...

So the short answer is, yes you can use photoshop in place of lightroom. It is comparable to saying that you can use. MS Paint to edit out skin blemishes.

Back in my day, we used only one layer and there were no undo's!

I still use PS2.5 on my MacSE and you should do the same or just stop complaining.

Lol. Yeah, I remember before there were layers or undos! But at least there was the trusty lens flare filter in case you needed that subtle touch of class!

I know how to save images and different edits of a picture in different layers. You name the layers and you know what is the work you've done in it.. You say that Lightroom applies Metadata that you can apply to so many pictures in very little time. Ok, so well to you, congratulations.

What exactly is your point? Are you seriously attacking people for using far superior workflows for the things THEY want/have to accomplish?
Can't get my head around why you would complain about other peoples workflows.
