What happened to the .pst file format?

PS used to open .pst files as templates.  What happened to it?  Please bring it back.  I have tons of templates saved that I will have to go back and rename to .psd files to open.  This is nuts.

Extension conflicts on Windows with Outlook/Exchange which uses .pst for mail files. You should be able to do a one-time rename of all your . pst files to .psd with a batch task (Windows) or script (Mac). If you are on Windows and use Outlook you'll need to be sure your batch task excludes the Outlook mail files.

Rename them to .psdt and they will continue to work as Photoshop templates. Batch Rename in Bridge will do this.
