This style

Hello, I absolutely love this style. I would like to know how you do such a thing? The puppy is so sharp and fluffy. Does anyone know how you can create something like that with your photos?

  • Use a very wide aperture (1.2—2.0 depending on the focal length) to reduce the focal range and blur everything but your subject.
  • Hang strings of small lights in front of your backdrop. Or use highly-reflective bangles of some sort to reflect your backdrop light.
  • You could also add them in post-production. Go to one of the many sites that offer free stock images. Search for "bokeh". Create a new layer with the bokeh image. Experiment with the blending modes (try "screen" first) and adjust the opacity.
  • Add a black mask to the layer and paint the bokeh back into the arias you want it to show.
  • These images also have a fairy strong and vignette around the edges.

As well as Russell's suggestion, in post production you can use what is called an Orton Effect to bring that soft glow to your images.

Here's a link to good video by Blake Rudis who explains a little about that special glow that some people like in their images. As well as that, he gives you a link to download some free ACR and LR brushes.
