Show recent brushes in Brush Settings panel

Are you using Elements?   In earlier versions of Elements, if you select a brush of any kind, it will have a set of brushes in its pull-down menu-panel, depending upon the type of brush selected, but most of them are in the left top area showing the brushes IF you are still using earlier versions before version-14.  If you have versions 14, 15, 16, and 17, those brushes may show in the bottom area.   They should show relatively in the same way.  Not much changed over time with Elements.  There should be a shortcut menu per each brush showing many types of brushes available for that one selected, and the last entry is "save brush" so you can use it again.  It'll refer to the brush you have selected. 

Some people liked saving their brushes because they had just the right size, type, and the right settings, which is why it's there.  But, others (pros) don't use it, as they utilize a different brush for a different graphic or photo, each time.  Like me, I select a new brush each time according to the photo I am editing at the time, and most every one of them are different.   I never save a brush because they accumulate over time, usually resulting in never going back to use them again anyway.  The more layers, brushes and "stuff" you save makes the program "fatter" and bulky.  Try not to get into a habit.  

Your best policy should be to create a transparent rule for yourself to use certain brushes for certain things, and even if the brush has a different size, or settings, go with it anyway.  Settings for brushes will change per each project.   For instance, I always load expert mode which loads ALL of the tools at once.  I don't miss anything that way.  I have never used any other mode. 

I began with Elements and Photoshop the hard way, learning the tools immediately.  There was no beginners mode or guided mode.  Then again, I was a noted engineer at Microsoft, and expected to learn things fast.  At Microsoft we had "Microsoft college" which was  always an ongoing learning as each time we moved upward with more new things in Windows, as we were expected to learn about those new things and to keep our engineering certifications current.  I had 8 certifications and a 4 year degree in technology at the University, but still, I was expected to move along with the company and to  keep current with ongoing things.  We would work 8 hours then go to school for 4 hours on campus in auditoriums built for 400 people in an amphitheater format, as if we didn't have a home life.  I got used to it in a weird way.  (My wife did too) My result was finally getting to 8 years of technical knowledge, all compliments of Microsoft.  I could learn faster, have immediate results and still get my work done.   I was a test engineer, so learning new software came easy for me to adapt.  We were expected to move along with the new builds of Windows each day as we kept it building.  But I was also a conceptual-artist with a different images on film or digital each day.  I was very busy.  Later I parlayed that into a business.   

My point is, I don't expect you to learn like I did, but a crash course is really what's needed when learning a robust software program like Adobe saving brushes can make you feel like a sameness with your work rather than feeling something new is happening each day.  Be flexible.   Feel like something new is happening so you won't go stir-crazy with it all.   My best advice I think is this.  Don't save brushes. They will feel redundant over time.

Actually, my question is not about how to save a brush. I'm an illustrator, when working on an illustration project, I have been using a series/group of self-created brushes to keep all pictures hang together as a unified set. It's really hard to explain just in words. Anyway,  if I want to change brush I have to switch to Brush panel or get right-click.
You know, we can select "Show Recent Brushes" in the pull-down menu of Brushes panel. I just want to get the same thing in Brush Settings(F5).
