Problems with wrong layer or group being selected since updating to Photoshop 19.0.1

Photoshop seems to be having an issue the last few days with selecting the right layer and then moving it. I go to select a layer (either from the Layers palette or by control-clicking on the Layer to bring it up), and it shows as being on that layer. But when I go to move it, it automatically selects a layer below or elsewhere in the document. It also has the same problem with a group - I select the Group, and then when I go to move it, it will change the selection to a layer within that group.

The workaround I have found is either nudging it (using the arrow keys) or Transform which gives me the bounding box. Then it works Ok. Frustrating as hell when trying to work in multipl layers and be able to change back and forth between them.

This seems like a bug but I have not come across any other reports of the same issue. I also recently upgraded to OS High Sierra but others in my office have as well, with no problems.

Help!

Sounds like you have Autoselect turned on. Try turning it off (deselect the checkbox) and see if it works the way you expect.
