Precise Control of Guides – Like "Create Guides" in InDesign

I've long wanted to have precise controls over columns and gutters and precisely add a guide. InDesign has the Create Guides command which allows users to add horizontal and vertical guides with numerically defined spacing. I've always had to create workarounds in PS – maybe I'm missing something? It's what GuideGuide offers as a plug-in. Thanks!
